FAQ:
Can I legally purchase a firearm over the internet?
YES! It is legal and the process is pretty simple - here is a quick summary of the steps:
1 - Select your products and complete your purchase through our website. Use your physical and billing address to complete your order.
2- Locate a local firearms dealer who currently holds a valid FFL (Federal Firearms License) who is willing to receive the firearm, complete the necessary background check paperwork before transferring the firearm to you. You can search for local FFL Dealers Here. Some dealers do not charge a transfer fee, most dealers charge a small fee, usually $20 or less.
3- Provide your selected local FFL dealer with Founding Fathers Armory contact and FFL information listed below and ask them to email a copy of their FFL and special transfer requirements to Founding Fathers Armory. Please ask them to include your name and order number with their FFL so there is no delay in matching it up with your order. Once we receive and confirm that the FFL is valid we will ship your firearm directly to the address listed on their license and an email with tracking information will be forwarded to both you and your transferring dealer.
Please note that your order cannot be shipped until we receive this information.

4 - Once your transferring dealer receives your firearm, they will contact you and have you fill out ATF form 4473. You will need to provide a current government photo ID and sign the form. The dealer will then contact the National Crime Information Center to complete a background check to verify that you are not legally prohibited from possessing a firearm. Once the check is complete your local dealer will complete the transfer.

Why do I need to be 21 years old or older to purchase an AR Lower Receiver?
A lower receiver by itself is not designed, made or intended to be fired
from the shoulder and is therefore not a rifle under federal law. It is
however still a firearm under federal law. Since it is a firearm, but
is not a rifle or shotgun it falls under the classification of "Other" firearm, meaning that it could be built into an AR rifle or Pistol. Due to the classification of Lower Receivers as an "Other" firearm you must be 21 to purchase it from a
licensed dealer. There is no "grey area", the law is clearly written and
has been in effect since 1968.
I am only buying a Lower Receiver, not an entire rifle. Why do I need to use a local FFL and get a background check?
As explained above, federal law classifies lower receivers as a firearm for several reasons but most importantly because it is the only component in an AR rifle or pistol to bear a serial number. Therefore purchasing a lower receiver is legally the same as purchasing a fully operational firearm.
Are there State laws that govern the purchase and use of AR Lowers?
Yes. Because there are 50 states and their laws are always changing you (the Purchaser) are responsible for knowing, understanding and obeying your local and State laws. Founding Fathers Armory is in no way responsible for determining whether products offered for sale via this website are legal in your State, County, City or other local jurisdictions.
What if I need to return a product because I did not pass a background check?
If your local FFL is unable to complete the transfer because you are legally prohibited from possessing a firearm or for any other reason excepting manufacturers defect, you will be charged for outbound and return shipping plus a 15% restocking and handling fee. The balance of your purchase price will be credited via your original payment method within 3 business days after the product is received back in our shipping department.
The most important thing to remember is that if you think you even might be legally prohibited from possessing a firearm to determine this before you place an order.
